Robert Blum: Turning Around a School That Had Limped Along for Fifteen Years
A former IBM executive whose job was outsourced took over a failing school and reported an 800% increase in business over three years.
Robert Blum of Fishkill, New York came to school ownership from IBM, after his job was outsourced. The school he took on had, by the account given in this interview, limped along for fifteen years. Over the three years that followed he reported an increase in the business of 800 per cent.
Stephen Oliver interviews Blum about how that turnaround was actually executed — what he changed first, what he left alone, and what a career in corporate systems gave him that a career on the training floor would not have.
