Advertise in Martial Arts Professional

Martial Arts Professional is the trade journal of the martial arts school business, published by the National Association of Professional Martial Artists since 1996. Its readers are the people who sign the cheques: school owners and operators of traditional martial arts academies, Brazilian jiu-jitsu academies, MMA gyms and kickboxing programmes.

Who reads it

Owners and operators, head instructors, program directors and school managers — the buyers for mats and equipment, uniforms and gear, school management and billing software, insurance, tournament and event services, curriculum and certification programmes, and financing.

Readers reach the journal through the site, through the association’s membership, and through the archive and video library. Current audience figures are supplied with the rate card so that what an advertiser is quoted is what was actually measured.

What we sell

Unit Where it runs
Display units Run of site, and within category sections — marketing, enrollment and retention, pricing and profit, staff and systems, teaching.
Category sponsorship A single advertiser attached to one editorial section for a defined term.
Email brief Placement in the weekly business-news brief sent to readers.
Video Pre-roll and sponsorship on Business Breakthrough TV, the journal’s video library.
Event and awards programme Presence around the Lifetime Achievement Award and association events.
Sponsored content Accepted, and labelled “Sponsored” on the page and in the byline. See the terms below.

Editorial and advertising are separate

Advertisers do not influence what the journal reports, and no advertiser is given advance sight of editorial copy. Sponsored material is labelled as sponsored wherever it appears — on the page, in the byline and in the listing — and is not written by the editorial contributors. Reviews, profiles and awards are not for sale.

The journal’s own ownership is disclosed on the About page: Martial Arts Professional is published by Martial Arts Marketing, Inc. / NAPMA, and its publisher also founded a coaching company. We hold advertisers to the same standard of disclosure we hold ourselves to.

Specifications and booking

Current rates, mechanical specifications, deadlines and audience figures are issued as a dated rate card. Ask for the current one rather than working from a page like this — rates change and specifications change with them.
