NEW YORK, NEW YORK—The Donald wouldn’t be The Donald, and his son, Donald Jr., wouldn’t have an opportunity to be a chip off the old block, if Trump Sr. didn’t stick his entrepreneurial finger in the mixed martial arts pie. According to recent reports, Trump has invested in Affliction, a new mixed-martial-arts league, which will challenge Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) for TV ratings and profits. It may be that The Donald Sr. was influenced by his son to make this investment, since Donald Jr. stated in a recent interview that he watched many boxing matches, mostly at the Trump properties in Atlantic City. He said it was only natural for him to become a mixed martial arts fan. Maybe Donald Jr. doesn’t have enough to do as the executive vice-president of development and acquisitions at the Trump organization.
